Below are just a few highlights

27 August 2009 Dartmouth Regatta Event Runs for 3 day(s)

The Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta is the event of the year for the small, but perfectly formed town of Dartmouth in South Devon. The main events are all water-related, with local rowing, historic craft and waterborne tug-of-war on the river, as well as yacht racing in Start Bay and the traditional Passage Races from Brixham to Dartmouth.

The regatta includes something for everyone, of all ages. There's fantastic air displays, usually including the Red Arrows, a “shopping village” in the marquee on Coronation Park, and two of the best firework displays in the country.

Widecombe Fair 8 Sep 2009

Widecombe Fair attracts many thousands of visitors and interest from all over the world. The famous folk song recalls the story of Uncle Tom Cobley and his friends riding to Widecombe Fair on a grey mare.

This is real Devon country fare. Something for everyone- especially children. Livestock, Sheep and Equine classes, Terrier Racing, Family Dog Show, Vintage Vehicles and Machinery, Gymkhana, Maypole Dancing, Rural Crafts, Fancy Dress, Uncle Tom Cobley Downhill Race, Bale Tossing, Tug of War and much, much more.

A wide variety of Trade Stands will be on the Fairfield plus our popular Produce Show and Children’s Exhibition. Our on field caterer will be there to provide food and licensed refreshment and in the evening there’s Music and Dancing!
