Quite literally on our doorstep, Postbridge is one of the most iconic locations on Dartmoor and the perfect place to begin your adventure.

Its famous medieval Clapper Bridge, built from enormous granite slabs centuries ago, has become one of the National Park's most photographed landmarks. The village is also home to the Dartmoor National Park Visitor Centre, where you'll find fascinating exhibitions, local information and friendly advice before setting off to explore.

From here you can enjoy beautiful riverside walks, discover Bellever Forest, wander across open moorland or simply pause beside the East Dart River and watch the ponies grazing nearby.

2. Widecombe-in-the-Moor
